   Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are best for mild temperatures, clearer skies for the famous sunrise and sea of clouds, and cherry blossoms in March–April; avoid the typhoon/rainy season (June–August) and major holiday weekends when it’s crowded.

2. How much does the high speed rail cost?

   Fares vary by distance and class: Standard one-way tickets range roughly NT$200–NT$1,500 (Taipei–Zuoying) and Business class is more expensive. Children (6–11) pay half and seniors/disabled get discounts; early-bird online discounts and group fares are often available.

3. Anything special to note about using Taiwan HSR?

   Taiwan HSR is very punctual and uses reserved seating; trains have luggage racks, quiet cars, and allow food and drinks but prohibit smoking. Stations link to local MRT, buses and taxis—allow time for transfers and bring ID for concession fares.

4. How do I get the high speed rail from Taipei International Airport?

   From Taoyuan (Taipei) International Airport take the Taoyuan Airport MRT to Taipei Main Station and follow signs to the HSR platforms, or ride the MRT/A18 to THSR Taoyuan Station; airport shuttle buses also run to the THSR station. Buy HSR tickets at counters, kiosks, convenience stores or online.

5. Where does the Taiwan High Speed Rail run?

   The HSR runs along Taiwan’s west coast between Taipei in the north and Zuoying (Kaohsiung) in the south, stopping at major cities such as Banqiao, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan.
